Microsoft Access

I know how to split a database and how to place back end (table) files in a separate folder.

However, can you please let me know how to distribute the front end (objects) files between several networked PCs, all of which have local 'C' drives? Is this done by e-mail? Is it necessary to load the full database onto all the PCs and then make separate splits, successively overwriting back end files with each 'split' on each PC?

Thank you for you kind attention.

RE: Microsoft Access

Simply copy the FRONT END file to each networked PC.
The you need to go to each machine, open the database, and then go to:

TOOLS > DATABASE UTILITIES > LINED TABLE MANAGER

Tick all the boxes and then click on update/ok
You need to SPECIFY NEW SOURCE, and then point it to the BACK END DATABASE.

Let me know how you do.

Regards

Richard
