Carol has attended:
Excel Introduction course

Excel Headings

Could you please tell me how to keep the heading at the top of the page while I'm working on the spreadsheet.

I have to keep scrolling up and down to see which column I am entering data into.

Thank you

RE: Excel Headings

Hi Carol

Thank you for your question.

If you select the first cell in the row underneath the headings you want to see when you scroll down the page (e.g. if your headings are in row 1, select cell A2). Then go to Window - Freeze Panes and you should now find that when you scroll down the spreadsheet the headings remain visible.

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
