I need to put together a chart showing a time line of activities carried out during a campaign. Would Excel be the best package to use for this? If so, which tool should I use? Many thanks.

RE: Excel

Hi Krupa

Thank you for your question.

Excel is designed to produce charts based on numerical data so perhaps this is not the best program to use in this instance.

I think you might like to consider using Microsoft Project, as this program is designed to record and display information about tasks that need to be accomplished in order to complete a project or campaign.

We have a 2 day Project Intro/Intermediate level course which is great for people who are new to using Microsoft Project.

Excel tip:

Reset Excel toolbars to default settings

If you find any of your toolbars in Excel have changed (i.e. they are missing or have extra buttons) then you can reset them to their defaults.

1. Go to Tools - Customise.
2. Select the Toolbars tab.
3. Select (highlight) the name of the toolbar you wish to reset, then click the Reset button on the right.
4. Close the dialogue box.
