Hi Brian

Bitmap images do not always have a transparent background. This is something that you can achieve by using a paint/photo-editing program such as Paint shop pro or Photoshop.

You can also try blending the background colour of your image with the background colour of your website, so if you having trouble with transparent images, there are ways around it.
