RE: Importing data

Hi Birgitt, this is a good question, thank you for posting it; to import an Excel speadsheet consider two things; do you want to embed it or link to it. If you want to embed it in your presentation simply copy the range from Excel and paste onto a blank slide. However if you wish to link the spreadsheet to give you interactivity and automatically updating data, (when you open the presentation it will ask to update with the latest version of the worksheet), follow these steps:
On a new blank or title only slide, Menu option INSERT - OBJECT, from the dialog box choose CREATE FROM FILE option, click the BROWSE button and navigate to the workbook you wish to use, select the file and click OPEN, when the file path is displayed in the Text box, click to select the LINK box, and click OK. the Worksheet will be displayed on your slide, to edit the data you will need to double click on the displayed item, this will open the source file and you can edit the data in Excel. Note if changes are made to the source file when your presentation is closed, PowerPoint will ask if you wish to update when you next open the presentation, hope that helps, regards Pete

Powerpoint tip:

Multiple Presentations

You can open as many presentations as your computer memory can handle, this is good for copying slides from one to another. To view all open presentations on screen, use the Window, Arrange All command. To scroll through all open windows one after another use the Ctrl+F6 command.
