Hi Soran, Thanks for the post,
Excel is a spreadsheet which on the computer is the equivalent of a paper ledger sheet. It consists of a grid made from columns and rows. Formulas and Functions can be applied to the information to provide number manipulation which in most cases is fairly easy and somewhat painless. Many people also use Excel as a database with columns as the fields and rows as the records. Excel databases can be used to Sort and/or Filter required information, they can also be used to provide fields which can be used in Word as a source of data for Mail Merge operations. Hope that answers your post, regards Pete.

Excel tip:

Calculate age or service

The DATEDIF() function in Excel calculates the number of days, months, or years between two dates. So, this function makes it easy to calculate a person's age. To try this tip:

In a blank worksheet, type the birth date in cell A1, using slashes to separate day, month, and year.
In cell A2, type =DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"y") and press ENTER.
