Paul has attended:
Excel Advanced course

Pivot Table Deafults

My totals within my pivot tables are defaulting to "Count" rather than "Sum". Can I change the defaults anywhere?

For upcoming training course dates see: Pricing & availability

RE: Pivot Table Deafults

If you drop a non-numerical field into the Data area on a pivot table, it will default to COUNT. If the field is numerical, then the default is SUM.

Click on "field settings" to modify the function.

RE: Pivot Table Deafults

The fields in question are "Sales" and "Targets" and therefore numerical. I have managed to change them on the field settings.

Excel tip:

Customize the toolbar in Excel 2010

You can create your own toolbar which contains your favourite or most used tools. This will make using Excel much more efficient. To do this, you need to click on View, then select Customize Quick access Toolbars and then select Customize. A list of tools will then appear on the screen of which you can add or remove them as you please.
