How Do I update an Index?

by - trainer Sandy silver contributer[93 posts] (2007 Nov 23 Fri, 13:06) replyReply

I have created an index, but realise that I need to add more words. I do not know how to include these new words in my Index.

Can you help?

No you do not need to set up the Index again, there is a much quicker way of updating.

Once you have selected and marked new words in your document for your index. You just need to right click on the existing Index and select Update Field.

Your Index will now be updated.

This action can be done as many times as you wish.

Index is covered on our Word Advanced course. Please check the syllabus on this website.
