How do i identify the correct critical path tasks as everytime i look at them from different views ie. filter or tracking gantt i keep getting different tasks - so not sure which ones are correct?

Hi Anita,

Thanks for your question. There are a few things you could check.

First check the filters that you are running and see if they exclude any of the critical tasks. Secondly, check the formatting on some of your views and make sure you can correctly identify tasks on the critical path.

The tracking Gannt should correctly identify the critical path tasks. Remove any filters or special formats in this view and that should give you the critical path.

Ms project tip:

Change default view – Project 2010

a. In Project, click on the File tab
b. Select General from left hand side (this should be the screen displayed by default)
c. Set the Default view dropdown box to your chosen option
d. Click OK to apply your changes
