Thank you for your question. Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been off sick Friday and Monday. I hope you enjoyed your course on Friday as well.

The major difference between the two is that Visio is better suited/used for creating complex diagrams (organisation charts, flowcharts, business processes); whereas PowerPoint tools for creating diagrams are quite limited in comparison.

The Microsoft web site is a good starting point for finding out more about Visio's capabilities. Below is a link to their online tutorials which give you demonstrations of how Visio can be used (you don't need to have Visio installed to go through the tutorials).
