I have linked a table from a (seperate) database (using a link). i want to run a query so i can get both tables to link up (using ID number). It is an 'Employee' table and i want to add the 'auditor status' from another database i thought i could get the two to work together. I have the two tables in one database but can't seem to join (link) them please can you help? Both tables can be opened from the same database but i can't connect them together

Hi Samantha

thank you for your question. Can I check regarding your data - from the table names it looks like the relationship between your fields would be that an employee would have one auditor status and that this status would be a form of category (that could be set to describe the audit status of that employee). Would that be correct?

Kind regards,

Andrew

Yes the auditor status whether 'active/ inactive etc' will only have one form of response,

Access tip:

Hiding Multiple Table columns

If you want to hide non-adjacent Access table columns. In Datasheet view, open the table that contains the columns you want to hide.

On the Format menu, click Unhide Columns.
In the Unhide Columns dialog box, clear the check box next to the name of each column you want to hide.
Click Close.

This method makes having to use the Hide Columns command repeatedly unnecessary
