Dear Nicola

Hiding a Comment box is quiet simple. All you have to do is move your mouse away from the cell which contains the Comment!!

You can simply go to View > Comments to view all your comments. If it gets too much and the comment boxes obscure your view then you can either drag them away from the worksheet may be near the formula bar or toolbars. Note that there will be an arrow attached to it.

You will see a new Reviewing toolbar appear on your screen. You can click on the fifth button from the left hand side called “Hide all Comments” stop displaying.

A quick tip: Sometimes when you have a lot of comments attached to the cells and you try to go from one cell to another the comment boxes become nuisance and you wish you could make them disappear!! Well the good news is that you can!!

Choose Tools > Options… and in the View tab choose None in the comments section. Press OK. NB: Even the red triangles (that normally indicate that the cell has a comment attached to it) will disappear. Please note that it doesn’t delete your comments. After you have entered all your data you might want to go back to Tolls > Options… and then choose comment indicator only in the Comment section!!

Ctrl+Shift+O (This is Letter O). This will select all the cells that contain comments.

I hope that answers your question.

Kindest Regards

Excel tip:

Use the Format Painter to copy formatting more than once in Excel

The format painter tool provides a quick and easy way to copy formatting from one cell to another in Word.

The only problem is that if you click the Format Painter once to turn it on, you can only click and drag over a single cell or adjacent range of cells; then the Format Painter turns itself off automatically.

If you want to copy formatting to cells or groups of cells that are not adjacent to each other, double-click the Format Painter - this way you will be able to copy formatting to multiple cells.

When you have finished using Format Painter, press the Esc key or click on the Format Painter button once to turn it off.
