Why don't the lines (to write notes on) show when you select the handouts page, for example six slides to a page?

Hi Cat

Thank you for your question.

When you are working in the handout master the idea is that you can arrange different elements of the handout (e.g. where the slides or header/footer information is positioned) or add elements (e.g. a logo) which will then be reflected when the presentation is printed.

If you go to Office Button, Print, Print and change Print What to handouts, and choose 3 slides. Then click Preview to see how it is going to look. You will find that the lines for the 3 slide handout will show in Print Preview, it's just that you can't move the position of them in the handout master.

I hope this makes sense.
Amanda

Powerpoint tip:

Animating charts imported from Excel

Once you have imported an Excel chart into a Powerpoint slide, it is possible to apply animation to individual components (e.g. each bar) of the chart.

Click on the imported Excel chart, then go to Draw - Ungroup on the Drawing toolbar (usually located at the bottom of the screen).

A message will appear warning that ungrouping will change the chart into a different type of object - click Yes, then go to Draw - Ungroup again.

You should now see the chart has been broken up into all its individual components.

Right-click on a component that you wish to apply animation to; then select Custom animation and apply animation using the task pane on the right of the screen.
