Hi Matthew

Thank you for your question, and apologies for the delay in reply.

You can assign names to cell ranges by doing the following:

1. Select the cell range you wish to name
2. Click in the Name box (near the top of your screen, under the box where you choose the font type).
3. Enter a name for the range, without using spaces as part of the range name
4. Press Enter to assign the name to the cell range.

To edit the cell range that the name refers to:
1. Go to Insert/Name/Define
2. Select the name of the range from the large box.
3. Use the Refers to: box at the bottom of the dialogue box to reselect the cell range.
4. Click OK.

You can also add and delete named ranges from within the same dialogue box.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

Excel tip:

Apply currency format quickly in Excel

To quickly apply the currency format to cell in your spreadsheet, select (highlight) the cells you wish to apply currency format to, then use Ctrl + Shift + $

This will apply a pounds symbol even though the $ key is pressed.
