Hi Jenny

Thank you for your question.

I think you are referring to using the F4 key when creating a formula. You would use the F4 key after you have selected (clicked on ) a cell to put it in the formula, if you wanted that cell reference to stay the same/fixed if the formula was copied to other cells. This is called an absolute reference in Excel-speak, so if you want to look this up in Excel Help at any point, try typing in absolute reference as your search term.
