Edit all links in Word

Where, just where, is the Edit Links command by default?

Replicate: Copy/Paste slide from PPT into Word as a linked slide object. I can right click on the link and select Linked Slide Object/Links... to pull up the dialog that shows all links in a document. But not able to find the command anywhere on the Ribbon.

If I customise the Ribbon I can see that the command 'Edit Links to Files' appears in the File Tab. But if I actually go to the File Tab I cannot find this anywhere.

Is this access to this function disabled by default in Word 2013? The only way I can currently access this is by placing the command into a tab on a custom Ribbon tab.

RE: Edit all links in Word

Hello Peter,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Upgrade to Office 2013 course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding 'Edit all links in Word'.

The Edit Links to Files button is not on any of the ribbons as you have already observed. This button opens the Links dialogue box which shows all linked files.

If you wish to place this button on an existing ribbon toolbar select which one and then add a group which you can rename. Drag the button onto the new group and you will now have this at your disposal.

Remember, the File tab is known as the 'backoffice' and does not have it's own groups with buttons for day to day use of the programme. The File tab is used to access the options and also has a number of other features which you will find useful.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Microsoft Office tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Office 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
